Mailbag !! SSD1306 OLED Display for ESP8266 nEXT EVO Board

I think everybody knows already the popular  SSD1306 0.96″ OLED Display available all over the place for a very good price:                                     SSD1306 0.96″ I2C OLED Display My first option for a Alphanumeric Display still remain the ST7032i LCD one, but as looking also for a Graphical Display option found this SSD1306 OLED as a easy to use one with the CBDB

Mailbag Arrival !! DS3231 – I2C Real Time Clock Module

What we will need: CBDB Board USB adapter (take a look on Part 1 for details how to connect them together) DS3231 Module – you can buy them at a very good price HERE, 1.62USD/pcs, a very good deal!! For programming and uploading the driver and the software we will continue to use the LuaUploader as before. If  you remember my article

Time sync with Google page

How  we will do it:  Connect to Google server, fetch the page header that contain the Timestamp and do some string manipulation to obtain the Date & Time information in the format that we need to be able to update our Real Time Clock:  getTime = function()      conn=net.createConnection(net.TCP, 0)      conn:on(“connection”,function(conn, payload)             conn:send(“HEAD

AT24C32 – I2C External EEPROM Data Looger

As you remember from our previous article about DS3231 RTC Module, we have identified onboard an EEPROM chip, a 32k AT24C32 one. It is independent from the RTC circuit and conected on the I2C bus, perfect companion for a Data Logger System 🙂                                                        AT24C32 EEPROM The AT24C32 provides 32,768 bits of serial electrically erasable and

ESPBasic driver example for AT24C32 – I2C EEPROM

Do you remember the widely used DS3231 RTC Module ?As you might rememeber we have identified onboard an EEPROM chip, a 32k AT24C32 one and have written some driver examples for LUA I was looking a few days ago for a I2C EEPROM to do some tests with ESPBasic and the results…can be seen below 🙂 1. LM75 – I2C temperature sensor driver – CBDB

I was asked if MCP9008 Temperature sensor can be replaced with the less precise but widely available LM75 one. The answer is YES, it can be done without any problems, actually they can share same slot on CBDB Dev Board without any hardware changes, just choose your desired I2C address with the A0, A1, A2 pins.

ESP8266 – NodeMCU – I2C – Programming considerations

The story behind: Many people are complaining about I2C communications problems, mostly related with the NodeMCU LUA. I found out that many of the related problems are generated from a easy to fall in trap, generated by the way how code is executed in case of a step-by-step debug run or using a interpreter console,

ESPBasic – Web Interface – CSS elements example

A quick example on how to change your Web interface GUI objects properties without using a separate CSS file: Reading Humidity and Temperature from a DHT22 Sesor connected to the GPIO5 and also retrieving Date and Time from NTP Server: PinDHT = 5 DHT.SETUP(22, PinDHT) cls timer 1000, [branch] ‘ ## Time for auto refresh
